A Dozen Baby Blankets
These are the newborn blankets I made in the last 2 months. They are made on my knitting machine (the Ultimate Sweater Machine) using 'I Love This Yarn' from Hobby Lobby. I have 3 more newborn size in the wash and about 6 or 7 preemie ones done. It is blanket season here on Long Island so I am trying to make as many as I can to keep the babies warm when they go home.

What I Did on my Summer Vacation
We went to the mountains, upstate New York. It was beautiful, peaceful and a lot of fun. We had to take Ronin with us everywhere we went. He really liked that part. Unlike Long Island you can take your dog just about everywhere. We will be going back in the fall, which can't come soon enough for me or Ronin. We are glad to be home though, I missed my house, especially my bed. Next time we go I am going to look for some local yarn stores. I'll do some online research and I'm sure I can find a few.

Sweet Little Dress
I love this dress and it was so easy to knit. I did change it a little. I didn't do the ruffle on then bottom, when I was looking at I thought it would look nice with a seed-stitch bottom to match the top. To finish it that way: after last row of diamond pattern, knit one row, purl one row, knit one row, work in seed stitch for about 6 rows, knit one row, purl one row, knit last row, bind off.
And for the ties I didn't feel like doing the applied I-cord so I crocheted the ties and top trim.
Its a real cute dress and I think I will be making more. It was also a quick knit.

Officially Summer
Well I took the flannel sheets off the bed so it must be summer. Its been so chilly and rainy here I couldn't bear to take them off, they are so snuggly. I've been knitting and crocheting. Not as much as I should, but I'm trying. Been working on little outfits for the babies to go home in. I'm also going to be writing up some new patterns to sell on Ravelry. I need to make some money to support my yarn habit. I will be offering some new free ones here though. And the ones that are here will remain free.

I've been doing a little sewing too. Mostly receiving blankets. They are cotton on one side and flannel on the other. On some of them I used embroidery floss and did a blanket stitch around the edge to dress them up a bit. On the pink one I crocheted a shell border into the blanket stitch. I love this fabric, its pink snakeskin. Too cute!!! I've had it for years. There are more but I have to take more pictures.

New Website

HI! I'm thinking of starting an actual website (not just a blog) to promote my charity group. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to get a free site (or cheap) thats easy to use and ones to avoid. I'm thinking either tripod or go daddy. Thanks for your input!!
