Preemie sets

A member of our Hugs for Hope family passed away a few weeks ago. During the last week of her life she was concerned about who was going to make things for the babies. We are doing a memorial Preemie Blitz in her honor. She loved making things for preemies and donating to Southside Hospital.

I am making blanket and hat sets in her memory. Here are some I have done so far. The blankets are made on the knitting machine and the hats are hand knit.

I've been admiring your knitted baby sets. Could you please tell me where I can find, or could you share your pattern for the last hat(set # 5) I'm about to become a grandmother (my first) and love this hat. Thanks for any help you can give

Hi janette, There is no real pattern but I'll give you an idea of what I did, Cast on 48 Sts, work in 2x2 ribbing for about an inch, knit 2 rows then knit in seed stitch for about 6 rows then back to knitting.

If you have any questions please ask. I hope this helps you.

Kellys Sweater

Easy Print PDF:Kelly's Sweater 6-9M

Simply Soft yarn, size G7 hook
Size ( to make larger use a larger hook)

edited January 2009: I have recently taken measurements of this sweater and compared to baby size charts and this sweater is larger than I thought, the new size is 6-9 months not newborn if made with a G hook and Simply Soft yarn.

Here are the measurements of my sweater:
Neckline: 12"
Chest: 19" measured under arm
Sleeves: 4" from under arm to wrist.
Sleeves SHOULD be 5" so add 2 rows to length.

Gauge of my sweater is 4 stitches=1 inch and 2 rows= 1 inch.
