These are absolutely adorable. What size would you say these are?
How precious! I so appreciate the pattern too~I'll hafta bookmark it! (((((HUGS))))) sandi
this is too cute! I will definately be trying this one.
Hi... I love this pattern! I tried to contact you through your "Contact Me" button, but it doesn't work for me. I am making this dress for my new niece and I really like how it's flowing. I want to make a couple more and send them to you, if I can, for your donations. Sorry, I've not read too much of your blog to know who your donate to; but it's the least that I can do for access to a very nice free pattern.
Also, I want to ask your permission to use your page on Ravelry. I have an account there and would love to post it on my projects page. Of course, I'd give you full credit... but if you do not like the idea of your pattern being there, I understand.
You can reach me at my email address: dragon.mommie@gmail.com
Thanks,
Debbie
Fantastic Pattern! I made one start to finish in an afternoon/evening! It's so fast and easy, and I think it would be appropriate for a beginner with the basics down. There is a small correction in the very first row. The dc in the 4th chain and in the next 4 chains should read dc in the 4th chain, and in the next 3 chains...the skipped 3 chains forms the first dc. Other than that tiny glitch, it was totally smooth sailing from start to finish..good job on the pattern!

I love this pattern! I have tried many different sweater patterns but yours is by far the best and easiest to follow. Your pattern helped me make my very 1 st sweater and I plan to make a lot more. I would love to donate some sweaters but I am not sure how to get started. Thanks for the great pattern!!
Hi Kelly...
Thanks for the armhole tutorial. I am glad, though, that I remembered from the last time. I am making the full dress this time and I just want to say that if you make just a few rows of the skirt, then stop, it makes a very nice shirt with a nice frilly or flared out bottom for girls. I am not stopping, though, I am pressing on to make the dress, which is earmarked to send to you for donation through Hugs4Hope.

JUST PRECIOUS! THANX 4 SHARING!
I am so glad to finally find a baby dress pattern that is crocheted!! I have been looking forever. All of them use super thin yarn or just don't look very nice, or are for summer. This is perfect for the crisis pregnancy center. Thanks!!
I love your work. I'm looking for a pattern for my one-year-old, so this would be too small for her unfortunately, but I may make this for my new neice. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love your pattern! Do you have plans to adapt it in additional sizes? :*)

beautiful, I can't wait to try it
I just finished up my first (but definately not my last) Sweater Dress. I posted a picture of it on my blog: The Happy Housewife: Sweater Dress. Thanks so much!
Such an adorable pattern! Im making it for me niece. THANK YOU!
So cute and soft sweater dresses for newborn baby!! Thanks for sharing the tutorial... White and pink combination dress is best one!!
this is probably really stupid but i can't quite figure out the skirt part. not sure of where to do the stitches in the joining stitch. have the bodice and it is super cute and love the pattern. can anyone help???
thanks!!
renee
Do you want to know about the first join to actually join the back or join the shells?
Kelly
i had it fine until the skirt started. i am just not sure where the stitches go after you do the ch 1 (into the joining stitch). i tried a couple of different ways and most of them had holes that looked way too big. i was doing 2 dc, ch 1 and then the last 2 dc back into the same st as the original 2dc but i don't think that's right either.
Ok, I think I figured out your problem, I hope! If it is the row 10 joining that you are having a problem with, it is not written correctly, you DO NOT Ch 1 at the end of row 10, you just finish the row and join in the first hdc. I took out the pattern and some yarn and got to work and I found that I left that part out of the pattern. Please let me know if that is your problem.
Kelly
I figured it out. :) Not sure if it was the yarn I was using or pregnancy addled brain but i changed yarn and had no problem. Thank you so much for your help!
Lovely pattern. How difficult would it be to make it larger, do you think? Could I just increase the hook size if I want to make it for a 3 to 6 month old?
Yes, that would work. You can also try using a slightly heavier yarn with the larger hook, that will work too.
Kelly
Thank you for sharing this! Can't wait to try this!
Hello there! I am currently making this dress for baby shower gifts for ladies at my church. I see that you have made a diaper cover to go with some that you have made. Would you have a pattern link somewhere? I have been searching the internet, but have been unable to locate anything like it. Thanks so much!
Dawn
Hi Dawn. It is not the same dress, here is the pattern for both.

Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern. Its such a nice & easy pattern that a beginner like me was able to follow it. I made it for my cousin's new born daughter. She is 2 months old, so I used a larger hook to make it. But I was wondering how can I change the pattern to make it for some bigger girls like a year old.
You can see my attempt here-
hi,
i am a beginner and i started this sweater and surprisingly the start was good.thank you for the pattern . now i finished doing with bodice and finished 10th row. but now i don't understand what is mean by join last hdc with the first one and also how to start doing skirt?
Also, i want to make one bigger sweater also. for that can i just double the chain and all the stiches?
I am having trouble with the 1 DC inlast stitch. And the begginning of round 2. Can you please explain where to end round 1 and start round 2.
Please read my reply to the Aug 19 comment, that should help both of you.
And no doubling the stitches will not work, at least I don't think it will. Try a larger hook and heavier yarn.
Kelly
Sorry I should have specified more that I am on the skirt part. round 1: End 1dc in last st. I don't understand which stitch you are talking about. Is it the last stictch in row 10?
hello kelly,
thanks again.does join in means joining new yarn of different color that we are using for skirt? i know this sounds very stupid.
Its the last stitch in the row you are working. Its the ch2 (first stitch) of the previous row.
No, it means join to first stitch and the last stitch to close the skirt. Then you work the rest of the skirt in the round not back and forth.
this is one of the pretiest dress i have ever made my mom made it andit turnd out really cute .
love brenna
This dress is so cute. And I totally forgot about the baby shower i'm invited to! It's working up pretty quick-Thanks so much for sharing.
I just did one of these using Simply Soft in White and Baby Brights Ombre for your contest. I got so many compliments on it! I can't wait to make this pattern again.
Thats great!! I can't wait to see it.
i did this but accidentally dident join the first and last stitch and ended up with all the skirt open eek ..
i might just stitch the skirt bit up and hopefully itll turn out ok
but lovely pattern.
This blog is really wonderful and very interesting. It catched my attention since the first time that i saw.

Hi Kelly
the skirt part is which stich, is this the shell stitch. pl.s let me lnow
yes, it is a shell stitch for the skirt.
Hi Kelly,
My name is Kellie and I'm having some problem with the sweater dress pattern. I've done fine through row 10 except the joining...not understand exactly how to do it. I thought I had it right and started working on the skirt and found out that I was having trouble also on round 2 and 3. I hope you can help me with this. It is a lovely pattern and this is my first time making a dress. Hope to hear from you soon.
Kellie
You join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 2 that started the row.
Here is my version!

Thanks so much, it's gorgeous!
I'd love to make this for a friend's baby, but she will be out of "newborn" phase by the winter. Do you think using a "J" hook may work for a 4-6 month old girl?
Thanks,
Gerry
I made this in lavender without the long sleeves, adding two rows of 4 ch loops to create a ruffle at the neck and sleeve openings; I also added two rows of sc (with a one stitch decrease) to make the armholes smaller. It was beautiful!
This is very cute. We are having a baby girl in January. This will make a very cute dress for her. Thank you for sharing this pattern.
this is an amazing pattern just had to thank you for it i did however not put the arms in for mine when making it and used the top part of the pattern to make a little cardi to go with it instead so it could be taken off if too warm and they look adorable together thank you again x
this lavender colored crocheted sweater pattern is an adorable pattern. it is very easy to understand as well gives a very well shaped pattern. i will like to follow your patterns for babies.
