Wedding Dress for American Girl dolls

I finally did it, I wrote the pattern for the wedding dress. Sorry it took so long. Its a very simple dress. But you can add ribbon or sew beads on to dress it up. Use your imagination.
I used sport weight yarn, it was red heart baby econo in white. Not the best for a wedding dress but it was all I had. You could use something silkier to get a fancier effect. Just make sure it is sport or lighter worsted.

G6 hook

V-stitch: dc, ch 1, dc in same stitch

Chain 32
row 1: dc in 3rd chain from hook and in next 2 chains, work V-stitch in next chain, dc in next 5 chains, V-stitch in next chain, dc in next 8 chains, V-stitch in next chain,
dc in next 5 chains, V-stitch in next chain, dc in last 4 chains. (chain 2, turn)

row 2-4: dc in each dc of previous row, work V-stitch in each V-stitch. (chain 2, turn) at end of row 4 chain 1, turn.

row 5: sc in each dc and put 3 sc in each V-stitch. (chain 1, turn).

Armhole shaping:
row 6: sc across to 3sc group,* put a sc in the middle stitch, chain 6, skip all stitches until next 3sc group, sc in middle stitch and each stitch across to third 3sc group*, repeat from * to * working sc until the end of the row.
Skirt of Dress:

row 7: sc across row, ch 2, turn.

row 8: *2dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next* around. ch 1 turn.

row 9: sc in each st across row, join.

Rest of skirt is worked in rounds.

Row 10-15: ch 2, dc in Back loop only. (working in BLO is not neccessary, just a nice touch). join to ch 2.

Row 16: chain 2, dc in same space, (1dc in next st, 2dc in next st around). join to ch 2.

Rows 17-29:ch2, dc in each st around. (I worked these rows thru both loops).

Row 30: ch 1, sc in each st around. join. Finish off.

This looks very nice. I have to put it on my to do list for my six year old whose grandmother will be buying her an AG doll for her seventh birthday. Thanks for sharing.
