Beautiful sweater pattern! I went out to Michael's and bought a skein of Snuggly Wuggly yarn to try it out! How many dc's equal an inch on your sweater? Thanks for another wonderful pattern!!!
Hi Beth, it is 4sts to the inch and 2 rows and a smidge to the inch.
Hello, my name is Radhika and I am new to your blog. I love to knit and crochet and have been trying some baby sweaters recently. Just wanted to say that the sweater coat pattern is so beautiful. I am going to knit it for a friend who is expecting her second baby. Will this size fit a new born?
Yes,it is a newborn size.
Kelly
I love your sweater pattern!! The
charity group I belong to will be having a sweater drive in June and I know I will be using this pattern to make some of the because it it is so cute and looks like it will make up quickly. We want as many babies as possible to have sweaters for winter!! My question: Did you us the snuggly
wuggly 4 ply or the baby yarn. I have never used it but have so much yarn here in 4 ply that I am hoping that you used 4 ply yarn.
But then again, it would give me an excuse to go out and buy more!! LOL
The Snuggly Wuggly is baby yarn. The 4ply has a different name, I think its called Impeccable.

I love this sweater coat it is so easy I have made two already and going to making a third one. Thanks
I finally bought a skein of Snuggly Wuggly yarn used it to make this sweater. I love it! I can't wait to buy more for other projects.
I received quite a few compliments on the pattern while I was working on it. Thanks for sharing it!
Followed your instructions and found that when I did the first sweater was too small (I crochet tightly) so I tried a larger hook and it worked beautifully. I am now working on my 3rd sweater!
I love this pattern. Have made several and have another one to do when our friend's premie comes home. I needed to make a sweater for a teddy bear, so I used a very small hook and it fit perfectly. Thanks so much for your paterns.
I LOVE this pattern! Just finished making it and it was/is the first sweater I've ever done! Turned out great and the directions were easy to follow! Thank you so much for sharing this! I can't wait to make more!
I would like to make this sweater for my grandaughter in size 6 mos. What size hook would you suggest? Also I would like to make the hat, is there a pattern for that?
I would try an "H" or an "I" hook. Also a worsted weight yarn like Simply Soft would help get it bigger too. The hat pattern is in the side bar.
I just happened onto your blog from a crochet pattern website and planning to make several of your patterns. They're wonderful!
How many skeins does this sweater take?
Less than one skein.
Hello, thank you for your beautiful patterns I have done the jacket and I will do the hat soon. Thanks for sharing your patterns.
Could I use red heart 4 ply worsted weight for a 1 month old? Do I need to change hook size or anything? Thanks :-)
I think that would be too thick. I would stick to a baby or sport weight yarn. You can go up a hook size to make it a little bigger.
LOVE all of the sweaters plus everything:)
does this only take one skein of yarn?
It takes less than one skein if using the yarn called for in the pattern.
beautiful sweater Kelly, wondering if you can tell me with the finished length, from shoulder to bottom?
We have no Michael's so wondering how thick this yarn is. What would you suggest for a substitute. Sport weight? DK or knitting worsted?
Thanks
a sport or dk weight will work.
Would this fit a 7lb baby?

I loved making this sweater. How would i increase the pattern for a 6 month old baby?
I would suggest using a heavier weight yarn and an H hook.
