Shell Stitch: 2dc, ch1, 2dc in same stitch

Chain 36
Row 1:  dc in 4th ch from hook and next 3 chs,  3 dc in next ch,  dc in
Rows 2-4: dc in each dc across putting 3dc in center dc of 3dc group below. Ch 2, turn.  
next 5 chs,  3 dc in next ch,  dc in next 10 chs,  3 dc in next ch,  dc in next 5 chs,  3 dc in next ch,  dc in last 5 chs.  ch 2, turn.   

Row 5: dc in first 8 sts, 3dc in next st, *(skip 1 st, shell in next for a total of 6 shells)*, 3dc in corner st, dc across 22sts, 3dc in corner st,
Repeat *to*, 3dc in corner, dc in last 9 sts. Ch 2, turn

Row 6: dc in first 11 sts, ch 6, skip shells and 1 dc, dc in corner and across 22 sts, ch 6, skip shells and 1 dc, dc in last 11 sts.

Row 7: dc in each dc and ch around. Join, ch 2.

Rows 8-13: dc around. Join ch 2.

Row 14: dc, ch 1, 2 dc in join. *Skip 1 st, shell in next* around. Join, ch2.

Row 15: dc, ch 1, dc in join. Put a shell in each shell around.
Join, ch 1.

Row 16: Sc around. Join, Finish off.

Back and Neck trim:
Join yarn in the back opening on the left side,
Ch 1, sc up the side, 3sc in corner st,
sc across neckline, 3sc in corner st,
sc in next, chain 3, sc in same end of row.(buttonhole)
sc evenly down right side.
